Sustainability in teambuilding activities

RECYKLACE F1 800PX

We need a lot of equipment for all our activities and the decisive factor in development and testing is the ecological sustainability of such equipment. We look for equipment that we can use repeatedly that is as durable, high-quality, but also pleasant to use. It must serve its purpose for several years and will be used at several dozen events.

For consumables, we look at the purpose, but also at its economic and ecological impact. That is why you can take a little inspiration from our tried and tested procedures, which we are constantly improving.

  • Sorting waste from events – Probably a basic step in today’s world, but just by purchasing portable bins for sorted waste you will help reduce the burden of the event
  • Converting instructions into electronic form – If we give teams a tablet with instructions (we have over 30 of them), this saves a huge amount of paper. What really needs to be printed can then be printed on recycled paper, which still looks nice.
  • Reinforced tapes – this year we replaced 75% of our base building element with paper tapes with or without reinforcement. They are very strong, almost like the well-known silver tape, but they are at third of the price and at the same time you do not produce as much plastic waste that mixes with the materials on which it is glued (most often paper in our case).
  • Recycling materials – It is amazing what can be recycled these days. You just need to find the right partner. We most often transport a full trailer of cardboard to a specialized partner, who further processes it into office recycled paper, thus reducing the impact of our actions on the environment.
  • We buy in bulk – instead of buying 10 pieces in 10 packages, we buy 100 pieces in 10 packages. We buy more of what we need during the year at once rather than in smaller batches. This saves a lot of unnecessary plastic packaging.
  • From waste to activity – not that we go through clients’ waste, but we like to use their defective or discarded products for some of our activities that would otherwise end up in landfills.
  • Optimized transport – In addition to gradually switching to hybrid vehicle drives (electricity and one of the fossil fuels, which brings a pleasant reduction in transport costs), we use the optimal size of the vehicle for the amount of material we transport. This way, a large car is not unnecessarily driven to a small event for 10 people, which is neither economical nor ecological.

Hopefully you have been inspired and have also discovered that even if the activities are material-intensive, not everything ends up in a landfill, but is still being worked on so that the impact of team buildings on the environment is as small as possible.

Have a wonderful upcoming Christmas holiday
